This is all pretty straightforward stuff so I'm gonna blast through it pretty quick ok
- Please don't change your post color. Different monitors display colors differently, and a text color that looks fine for you may be illegible to someone else. For the sake of readability, all roleplay posts should be in black.
- There are no post length guidelines - but, if your post is only a few sentences in an roleplay thread with three or more people, there may not be enough for your character(s) to respond to yet! It might be worth it to wait a few more posts to see if further developments give you more material to work with.
- Similarly, there are no strict post orders. In a roleplay with three or more people, just try not to get more than a page and a half in front of anyone else. For example: Jotaro, Kakyoin, and Polnareff are roleplaying in a thread; Polnareff goes to bed. Jotaro and Kakyoin can continue to post back and forth, but if they get about a page and a half of content before Polnareff gets back on, they should stop and wait for him. This avoids the RP-killing tendencies a strict post order has but also prevents people from being left behind. If you find that you keep going off on tangents with one or two people, especially in a larger thread, then maybe whatever's happening there should be snipped into an offshoot thread so that the main plot in the larger thread can continue more smoothly.
- You can only control your own characters. In extended Stand battles or other interactions that require a lot of back and forth, you might want to consider discussing the outcome with the other writers involved ahead of time. If nobody knows how it's going to end, nobody wants to lose, and nobody godmods, fights and other rapid back-and-forth interactions can start to drag.
- Graphic content: warn ahead of time, and keep it canon-typical. By "canon-typical" I mean that gore, violence, sexual innuendo, etc. should not exceed levels typically seen in JJBA canon. Still, especially for things like gore, that may not mean much, so be sure to warn OOC at the beginning of posts that contain graphic content. If it's gonna exceed canon levels that means it's something that has to move into PMs/offsite google docs/etc.
- I really don't anticipate this being an issue but no??? drama??? If you feel left out, just be upfront - "Hey guys, I think my character got left behind in this thread! Can we work them back in?" If a character interaction felt weird, take it up with the writer(s) involved. And remember that our characters are not us - your characters can have beef with each other without it being a reflection of how the writers behind them feel. It feels goofy written out, but they're problems I've seen in group RPs before that I felt could've been resolved with open communication, so I figure it doesn't hurt to be thorough.
- TRY to let us know if you're going to be absent or need to stop. This isn't always possible, but it will help keep things moving in threads your character is involved it. When you're able to get back, we'll find a way to get you caught up! Just try not to go totally AWOL.
